 California has one of the country’s most complex and diverse legal services networks – almost 100 legal services nonprofits working on behalf of underserved Californians. These nonprofits vary significantly – in size, client populations, areas of law and geographic regions. Statewide leadership is vital to ensure that our community works together – that efforts are not duplicated, that knowledge is shared, and that we serve as many low-income clients as effectively as possible. PIC is proud of the role it plays, in coordination with other statewide organizations, to support the California legal services community through strategic planning, advocacy on national legal services issues, and by serving as liaison to key stakeholder groups. PIC works closely with the State Bar of California, the California Commission on Access to Justice, and the Administrative Office of the Courts on collaborations to advance the cause of justice.
