PIC Pro Bono Opportunities from Public Interest Clearinghouse.

PIC's PRO BONO INITIATIVE leverages the resources of the larger legal community by undertaking and supporting pro bono efforts around the state.

Every year, tens of thousands of California lawyers, paralegals, and law students provide much-needed pro bono legal services.  Volunteers staff client intake clinics, offer essential advice in their areas of practice, and represent low-income families in a wide range of substantive areas.  There remains significant capacity for the legal community to provide more pro bono legal services, and it is vital that attorneys and law students are able to connect efficiently with high-quality pro bono opportunities and trainings.

In addition, while many urban legal aid nonprofits benefit enormously from pro bono services, rural nonprofits do not have access to large law firms or law student volunteers.  Both urban and rural legal services nonprofits need a statewide organization to forge the pro bono partnerships necessary to fulfill the needs of California’s underserved populations.
