Why Join

PILP members can develop invaluable practical legal skills and gain satisfaction from contributing knowledge and skills to help vastly under-served communities.

PILP membership provides the opportunity to:

In addition to gaining skills and insight into the actual practice of law, PILP members can also receive or participate in the following:

  • Public Interest Law Certificate
  • Pro Bono Publico Award for pro bono work of at least 25, 50, and/or 75 hours during your first, second, and third year respectively
  • Graduation and Award Ceremony
  • Career and Financial Counseling by PILP Staff
  • Invitations to participate in our public interest programs, workshops, and networking and community building events scheduled throughout the academic year

Although you may join PILP at any time, we strongly encourage enrollment during the first year to allow you to receive the full benefits of the Program.
